A PERSONAL PROJECT EXPLORING NEWSPAPER INSPIRED WEBDESIGN. AN EMPOWERING PLATFORM FOR WOMEN IN THEIR TWENTIES TRYING TO NAVIGATE THROUGH LIFE.
This project is showing a fictional online art and lifestyle magazine called ‚HERMIND‘. It‘s created for women in their twenties who deal with all the ups and downs that may occur during that lifespan. Through showcasing different artists, writers, and musicians, as well as giving helpful advice in the field of mental health, the platform represents the aspirations and struggles of young women.
The design of this website and Instagram content is inspired by the layout and font styles of historical newspaper editions of the ‚New York Times‘ and ‚Süddeutsche Zeitung‘. A close arrangement of pictures and text, as well as the use of a minimalistic version of a blackletter font, gives the website an analog touch that creates a sense of nostalgia and safety.
